This volume provides head teachers and study support co-ordinators in schools and local authorities with practical self development and training materials to help them develop or expand their study support programmes.
Keele University, Canterbury Christ Church University, Education Extra and the University of the First Age worked in partnership to produce the material for this publication. It brings together existing guidance with practical tools and strategies used in schools and authorities across the country that are known to be effective in developing and sustaining programmes of activity.
The toolkit is sub-divided into six modules designed to be dipped into as needed, not read sequentially. Looking through the Introduction and key element sheets of each module will give a quick overview; the page-by-page commentary offers suggestions about how each sheet could be used and how they relate to each other; the toolkit sheets are designed to get things done. Overall, the modules can be used to construct a personalised or customised resource that best suits the developmental stage of any given programme - whether emerging, established or advanced.
The modules are:
Module 1: Developing and Sustaining Module 2: Managing Study Support Module 3: Review and Improvement Module 4: Building Partnerships Module 5: Enhancing Learning Module 6: ICT and Study Support
