How to engage the Panel
Working with the Panel... can we help?
Is the Panel relevant to me/my organisation? What services does the National Teacher Research Panel provide? How can I engage the Panel to assist with my project?
The Panel would be delighted to hear from any researcher, funder, policymaker or anyone involved in educational research or working with the teaching profession who would like to explore ways of working with the Panel.
If your project, whatever its nature or scope, would benefit from an expert teacher perspective - given by a practising teacher with research experience and a sound understanding of research methodologies, issues and problems - then the Panel could be of help to you.
Amongst other skills, Panel members have experience of:
- commenting on research and funding proposals at a national level;
- commenting on research policy papers;
- membership of steering groups and advisory bodies for research projects and policy developments;
- advising on reports, summaries and other literature aimed at a teacher audience; and
- advising on all stages of research projects from the bid, to the design of the research tools and the interpretation of findings.
Are you...
- Preparing a bid for funding for research into any schools or teacher based issues?
- Preparing research tools for use with teachers or pupils, for instance questionnaires/surveys/focus groups?
- Drafting a research report drawing out implications of research findings?
- Developing a policy that impacts on teachers in any way?
- Writing for a teacher audience?
- Supporting teacher research or teachers' professional development?
- Organising a conference aimed at teachers?
- Involved in HEI/school partnership?
- Or interested in connecting with practitioners for any reason?
If so, you may find input from the Panel helpful. Please contact us on 020 7925 5345 or at teacher-research.panel@dcsf.gsi.gov.uk to discuss how we could work together.
